About Me
Hi, I’m Sönke — a Ph.D. student in Chemistry at Vanderbilt University with a strong interest in computational and analytical chemistry. After earning my B.Sc. from Heidelberg University (Germany), where I focused on theoretical and photochemistry, I completed a research internship at ESPCI Paris (France), exploring photoredox catalysis and light-driven reactivity. My work aims to bridge simulation with practical, analytical chemistry — uncovering the molecular logic behind chemical transformations by combining quantum and classic mechanic modeling with experimental insights. Beyond the lab, I’m passionate about running marathons, lifelong learning, and engaging across disciplines to tackle complex questions.
